Hambledon Easter Events

Please take a look at the Easter page on godalmingminster.org for everything happening at St Peter’s Hambledon, and across Godalming Minster over Easter. As well as observing Easter with reverence, there’s several more inclusive and social ways for everyone to get involved.

Highlights at Hambledon include An Hour at the cross at from 12-1pm on Good Friday, before the trekkers arrive from Busbridge for tea and hot cross buns at the end of the Hot Cross Bun Adventure. If you want to join them, please meet at Godalming Minster Brighton Road at 2.30pm.

Messy Easter on Sat 30th is a real treat for younger ones. Meet at the Village Hall at 10am for a walk up to Hambledon Common where there’ll be games and an egg hunt on the sandpit.

Then come along to church at 10am on Easter Day to celebrate Jesus is Risen!

There’s no morning service on 7th April, but do please join us for the Spring Choral Evensong at 6pm (with thanks in advance to the very accomplished pop-up choir!).

The Hot Cross Bun Adventure – a 5km walk from Busbridge to Hambledon, or vice versa!
Messy Easter games on Hambledon Common

This Sunday at Hambledon Church

This Sunday we are celebrating our pets at the first Hambledon outdoor pet service. We can’t wait to meet your Misty/Fido/Patch/Apollo… all creatures great and small are welcome! The Muddy Church team will be joining Simon Willetts to lead the service outside in the church yard (we thought it probably best to avoid congestion in the aisle!) and coffee, squash and croissants will the shared at the end.  Please keep dogs on a short lead, exotic pets in their cages and shy or tetchy ones at home. You could always bring a picture of them.  The “service” will last about 30 mins.

Messy Church End of Term Event

Families with 0-11s are all invited to the Messy Church end of term party THIS SUNDAY at Hambledon Football Club.  There will be fun and outdoor games, and the usual picnic tea!

We are confident that it will be fine and dry, but in the event of rain, Messy will revert to the Village Hall and play some (slightly tamer) games there!

Messy Church on 3rd Sundays of the month will then take a break in August, so Rev Simon Willetts and the team are looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Easter with Hambledon Church

St Peter’s Church looks forward to seeing you over Easter, starting with a special service for Palm Sunday on 2nd April. Take a look at the list of events and services for Palm Sunday to Easter Day on www.bhcgodalming.org and collect a handout from church this Sunday. The Merry Harriers Pub is kindly bringing a pair of llamas to stand in for the donkey in Hambledon’s reenactment of Christ’s triumphant arrival in Jerusalem. It could be “Messy” and “Muddy” rolled into one!

All invited to Muddy Church on Hambledon Village Cricket Green – 9.30am 5th March

This Sunday Muddy visits Hambledon! Busbridge&Hambledon Muddy Church gathers somewhere in the great local outdoors every first Sunday of the month for ALL ages to explore and worship.  It’s an all weather, wellies welcome, church gathering which is open to all. Please BYO hot drinks and refreshments, or buy them from the excellent Village Shop. See www.bhcgodalming.org/fuse for more details.
