Hydestile Crossroads – notification of temporary traffic order

SALT LANE (C32) AND HAMBLEDON ROAD (C31), GODALMING

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2018

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:

a) That length of Salt Lane (C32), Godalming that extends from the western property boundary of “The Country Charter” to the eastern property boundary of “Hydon Cottages”; vehicular traffic will be diverted via Salt Lane, Clock Barn Lane and Hambledon Road.

b) That length of Hambledon Road (C31), Hambledon that extends from its junction with Salt Lane (C32), to its junction with Feathercombe Lane (D699); vehicular traffic will be diverted via Hambledon Road, Station Road, Station Lane, Church Road, Petworth Road, Lane End, Malthouse Lane, Rock Hill and Hambledon Road;.

This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable KN Network Services to carry out cabling and poling works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 08.00 – 18.00 from Monday to Friday, and 08:00 – 13:00 on Saturdays, within two weeks of the six month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order that commences on 15th February 2018. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians, residences, businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times via the diversion routes described above.
