A wide range of activities are on offer in Hambledon, where a strong sense of community involvement makes it a thriving and engaging place to live.
The village has flourishing cricket and football clubs, each fielding several teams and offering coaching for youngsters. There is a ramblers group, a cycling group, Morris dancing and Scottish dancing. The Wednesday Afternoon Group offers a chance to meet and hear a guest speaker and the Heritage Society not only promotes an interest in Hambledon’s past but has collected a wealth of material relating to the parish. The Hambletots playgroup offers facilities for the very young and the nursery school caters for those of pre-school age.
The church, with its new meeting rooms, is central to the lives of many, and the community-run Post Office and General Store and the 16th Century pub, the Merry Harriers, are also at the hub of village life.
The Parish Council supports and promotes village organisations and the Hambledon Village Trust has provided a focus for fund-raising and grant aid to acquire and renovate the village shop premises and to help set up this website. Other projects will follow.
