We would absolutely welcome a Hambledon snowy weather management plan.
Road Clearance
The experience in January clearly demonstrated that as a small village Hambledon road clearing is not a priority for Surrey County Council. This as is unlikely to change, so a plan which is locally developed(with any necessary Surrey County Council approvals) and implemented by locals would seem an excellent solution. As a relative newcomers to the village we were very impressed by the Hambledonian spiirt during the cold snap and highly suspect that if villagers were more in charge the roads would be cleared very quickly!
Electricity Supply
We were amazed to see that our property, which is after all, only 35 miles from Marble arch, came fitted with a generator. Now we know why. We have had repeated power failures after bad weather. We would fully support a concentrated effort from a pressure group and a petition to Southern Electric regarding the parlous state of the electricity supply to Hambledon.

Already looks likely the same problems will recur this year!
