Does anyone know if there are any allotments available in Hambledon?
I have had a mooch around on the web but can't seem to find any reference to them.
Is there a contact on the district council who handles allotments for the village?
Any info or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.:)

I do not think there are any allotments in Hambledon itself. There are several in Godalming that belong to Godalming Town Council. I think there may be some in Witley and I will try to find out and will post more information if I have it.

I have tried the Godalming Town council already. They were very helpful. However and there is a 3 year waiting list. Plus the waiting list is only open to people who live in the Godalming Town Parish so i can't even go on the list.
Apparently if there are 6 people who would like to have allotments in the parish then the Parish Council is obliged to give it consideration.
I have emailed the Hambledon Parish Clerk (Jane Woolley)and am waiting to hear back.

Does anyone know the administrator for the allotments in Wiltey?

There are allotments in Sandhills.However any spare land in Hambledon would probably belong to the Lord of the Manor.In the past villagers were allocated fields by the Lord of the Manor and paid rent in kind.Perhaps the time might come when we have to revert to this,but the land is very heavy and supports many trees.

Sandhills is just over the other side of the A283.It is not large enough to feature in world atlases.
About allotments-it might be better to write a letter to Jane Woolley,as Clerk to the Parish Council,since Jane can fix most things.

I am surprised that Godalming Town Council no longer rents allotments to people outside its boundaries. My wife and I rented one (for about ?1 a year) on the edge of the river by the parish church and bowls club (behind the old Waitrose carpark). We live in Hambledon and there was no issue. We have since given it up. I think allotments have had a resurgence in popularity since then, which may explain why GTC have imposed a restriction.
I am seeing a Witley parish councillor tonight and I will ask about allotments there (including Sandhills). SP

Further to my posting yesterday, I have been told that the allotments at Sandhills no longer exist. They have been turned over to open space. However, Witley Parish Council still has allotments near Enton, accessed beside Witley Club. Parish residents get first refusal and there is currently a waiting list. Witley is proposing to establish a new allotment plot at Milford beside the A286 Brook road near Milford cemetry. Again, parish residents will have first refusal. I suggest you get in touch with Witley Parish Council and get your name on the waiting list.
