Hello Hambledon! I have thoroughly enjoyed your website, which I found through an online search because I wanted to know more about the village my grandmother was born in. Her name was Grace Mary Enticknap and she was born in Hambledon in 1906. Her mother, I think, was called Eliza and her father, George, was a blacksmith. They could have moved around and also lived in Witley and Brook. I know she ended up living in Guildford during WWII. She had several brothers (one known as "Lal" and one of them called Fred, as far as I know), and a sister, Marjorie (Marge). I just wondered if anyone still in the area remembers the family or knows anything about them? Are there any Enticknaps still around? If so, would love to hear from you! My grandmother married Alec Lancelot Gravett who was in the Royal Navy, and eventually they went to live in South Africa (along with me and my parents, when I was a toddler in 1956)where she died about 10 years ago.
