Hambledon Youth Group a.k.a Godberries: Age 12+

Every Thursday evening during term time from 6:45pm- 8pm in the church room. 10 members (doubled in number since last term) supported by Andy Poulsom. Each session consists of a 10- 15 minute bible thought conveyed through group discussion, drama, video clips, music, reading and reflection.
This is followed by nibbles and hot choc, group games such as Charades, Articulate (this was a real hit!) Cranium and quizzes (they're very competitive!) The session finishes for a time of sharing prayer requests for the week.
Because the group has grown so much, we've decided to have a social, one session every month, where the sole focus is to catch up on highs and lows and share while enjoying fellowship. We are really beginning to see the fruits of an investment in these young people as they consistently attend the group and are comfortable to introduce their friends to it.

Following the success of the summer social for this age group, Godberries have suggested a quiz night at the village hall. This has been booked for Saturday 28th Feb from 6:30- 8pm.

Numbers are between 1-2 members on a Sunday morning and sessions consist of a bible reflection and usually an art and craft activity.

Spangles: Age 7-11

Our Spangles Christmas party was a huge success in 2008, with 16 children attending (including a lot of new faces!) Everyone joined in with calendar making, cookie decorating and pass the parcel. This was a great opportunity to advertise the January launch of the Spangles group which now takes place in the village hall on Thursday evening from 5:30pm- 6:30pm. Despite fighting for the young people's free time, we've had a total of 7 lively members who have requested games, games and more games! A good start from which to build this group. Cynthia Miller has very kindly volunteered to help supervise the group with me and others have offered their time too for the future which is a real answer to prayer!

Another Spangles social will be arranged in the near future to try and promote the weekly group again.

King Edwards JCU

Meet every Wednesday break time between 11:00-11:25. We have a core group of about 10 members which is a good number to effectively engage in discussions when given such a short period of time together!

Hambledon Nursery School.

I visit the nursery every Tuesday between 10:00-11:30. During the lead up to Christmas, I was asked to explain a piece of the Christmas story each week to the children which I found to be hugely rewarding! The Head Teacher, Nicola, has asked me to do a brief bible activity with a small group of four year olds, two or three times a term. I will be starting with the topic of Jesus and  Miracles in January
