St Dominic’s School is recognised by the DfES as a Non-Maintained Catholic Weekly Residential and Day Special School for up to 110 students between the ages of 8 and 16 years. The School, originally 'St Dominic's Open Air School' has occupied its current site (which was called Mount Olivet) since 1929, and is one of the oldest schools in the country catering for students with special needs. 

Established by the Order of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, who are currently trustees and governors, the School is proud of its Christian ethos which has been maintained to the present day.
