If you think Hambledon's community-run village shop and Post Office is good enough for an award, now is your chance to nominate it.
The Countryside Alliance runs an annual "Rural Oscars" competition, including a category for village shop/Post Office of the year, sponsored by The Daily Telegraph. The awards recognise effort and achievement in rural enterprises.
The awards scheme is split into 10 regions and the winners in each regional category go forward to a Grand Final to be held at The House of Commons early next year.
If you would like to nominate our village shop, rescued from closure and staffed largely by volunteers, then please pick up a form when you next visit and return it by October 15th. You can also nominate online at www.countrysideallianceawards.org.uk and have until October 21st to do so.
