Hambledon Village Fete – This Saturday from 12:30pm

We’re nearly there. Sausages have been bought for dogs to catch, burger buns have been tested, dry weather has been arranged.

The programme for the day is as follows:

  • 12.30 Opening of the Fete by Mrs Mary Parker
  • 1.00 Winners of Cake Decorating Competition Announced
  • 1.10 Children’s Races
  • 1.30 Dog Show
  • 2.45 Hawk and Owl Show
  • 3.45 Tug of War
  • 4.00 Winners of Photography Competition Announced
  • 4.15 Grand Draw results
  • 4.30 Fete closes

If you are running a stall, please be there in good time to prepare for a 12:30 opening.

If you have offered to help with setup for the weekend’s activities, please try to make the meeting at the Cricket Green at 10:30 on Thursday morning.

Hambledon Fete needs your Bottles and Plants

Do you have plants or bottles that you can donate to the Village Fete (to be held from 12:30 on Saturday 23rd June)?

The bottle stall is always a good money maker, so please hunt out those bottles of weird stuff that you got as unwanted gifts and are sat gathering dust in the back of a cupboard and send them Andy Hinde‘s way, good stuff also welcome. Drop them at the shop or bring them along on the day.

We’re also looking for contributions for the plant stall. If you have anything suitable, please contact Mary Caroe or Chris Baker.

Hambledon Midsummer Festival – Jazz on The Green Tickets have Sold Out

Our license for this event limits us to 499 attendees and tickets have now sold out.

If you would still like to attend, you can join a waiting list for any returned tickets by registering at this link.

Thanks to all who have purchased tickets and have helped ensure this will be a great evening and a successful fund raiser for the nominated charities.

Hambledon Summer Fête 2018 – Public Meeting

Wednesday 7th February 8pm in The Village Hall

The Village Fête will be held on Saturday 23rd June. If you would like to get involved, either by helping to run a stall, or by volunteering in some other way, please come along to this meeting.

Hambledon Midsummer Festival 2018 – Tickets for Jazz On The Green

On Friday 22 June, as part of Hambledon’s Midsummer Festival, the 17-piece Junction 4 Big Band (with maybe some surprise guests) will be performing on The Cricket Green. Reasonably priced food and drink will be available from local providers. Bring the whole family (and well behaved dogs). All profits from the evening will go to charity.

Tickets for Friday evening’s Jazz On The Green will go on sale on Saturday January 6th, on-line at hambledonfestival.co.uk and at Hambledon Village Shop. Adult tickets are £12.50 each, tickets for under 16’s are free. But please note that all attendees including under 16’s will require a ticket.

Calling All Fête Stallholders and Volunteers

If you’ve previously helped run a stall at the Village Fête, we hope you’ll be willing to do so again. If you haven’t been involved in the past but would like to get involved, please email us at [email protected] or mention your interest at the Village Shop. Please don’t be shy – we’re going to need lots of help throughout the weekend.

There will be a meeting for all participants at 8pm on Wednesday 7th February in the Village Hall.

Hambledon Midsummer Festival 2018

In summer 2018 Hambledon will be hosting a weekend of festivities to celebrate midsummer. Alongside the traditional fête and ball (both on Saturday 23rd June) there will be an evening of big-band jazz, accompanied by local food and drink (Friday 22nd June), a Church service on the Cricket Green on the Sunday morning and a Classic Transport Rally (also on the morning of Sunday 24th June).

Tickets for the Village Ball

Tables at the Ball always sell out fast. Until the end of December, Villagers can reserve tables ahead of the start of official sales in January, by either completing the form on the festival website at hambledonfestival.co.uk, or filling out the paper form available at the Village Shop.

Tables can be reserved for either 10 or 12 attendees (first come, first served) at a cost of £30 per head. We also have a few seats available at tables for people who are not part of a larger group. As usual you will need to provide your own food & drink, though there will be a paid bar for those who wish to use it. The dress code is “creative black tie”.

Date for your Diary – Hambledon Village Fete 2018

The date has been set for next year’s Hambledon Village Fete and it will be Saturday 23rd June 2018. As in previous years the Village Summer Ball will be held on the evening of the same day. In addition a more informal, family-oriented, entertainment event is being planned for the evening of Friday 22nd June.

Planning has started and we’ll keep you informed, here on the web site and in the Parish Magazine, as those plans develop. Or you can follow @hamblefest on twitter.

Please don’t forget that St Dominic’s School Summer Fete and DomFest are being held at the school this year on Saturday 1st July.
