Join the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company for an evening of riotous Regency rom-com with their production of Jane Austen’s Emma. Friday, May 26th at the Village Hall.

Meet misguided matchmaker Emma as she tries to play Cupid in this hilarious yet faithful new adaptation of Jane Austen’s satirical story.

This fast-paced, physical and funny show is filled with romance, music and The Pantaloons’ own charming brand of theatrical chaos.

Everyone who came to their production of A Christmas Carol a few years ago at the hall will know that we’re in for an extremely entertaining evening.

Dawn Chorus Walk, Sunday, May 7th at 5.30am

Calling all early risers! Come along and meet outside the village shop for the return of Hambledon’s annual Dawn Chorus Walk.

We will be walking into the Hurst then up onto the common to enjoy the early morning and identify as many birds as we can from the wonderful dawn chorus. We usually manage about twenty!

It’s not meant to be raining but it will be muddy.

Please do join us for the return of this lovely tradition – novice birdsong identifiers and experts equally welcome!

Hambledon Parish Assembly Tonight. Please Come And Join Us

A final reminder that the annual Parish Assembly takes place tonight at the Village Hall, starting at 7.30.

All are welcome to come along and hear how our village organisations have fared in the past twelve months, listen to a review of parish council activities and chat to friends and neighbours over a glass of wine or other refreshments.

This is a relaxed and social event and is a shop window on all the wonderful work that goes on, mainly undertaken by volunteers, in our village. 

And there will also be a presentation to two retiring parish councillors, Philip Underwood and Mary Grove, who are leaving after many years of public service.

Please come along tonight to support your village and all those who make it a special place.

The final film in the Village Hall’s classic film festival is this Saturday, March 25th.

The final film in our classic film festival is Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece of suspense, ‘Rear Window’, starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly.

Come along and watch this iconic film as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen.

Tickets available at the shop, £5 each, and also on the door. Bar opens at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30pm

Film Festival Well Under Way!

Hambledon’s First Film Festival is well under way, having begun on Sunday night with Casablanca. It was wonderful to see it as it should be seen – on the big screen – and it captivated even those who had seen it multiple times. Liv Coleman created the perfect atmosphere with 40s music playing as we went in, fairylights twinkling, her fascinating written critical description of the film to hand out to the audience and, of course, gin at the bar.

Don’t miss out on the experience! ‘The Third Man’ is showing tonight, Tuesday 14th. Bar opens at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30.

Tickets (£5 each) are available from the shop where you can also buy your tickets for Roman Holiday, showing on Tuesday March 21st, and Rear Window on Saturday 25th.

How to buy your tickets for Hambledon Film Festival

Hambledon’s First Film Festival is now just under two weeks away. Please see below for details of the films showing and how to buy your tickets.

Sunday, March 12th, Casablanca, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

Tuesday, March 14th, The Third Man, starring Orson Welles.

Tuesday, March 21st, Roman Holiday, starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

Saturday, March 25th, Rear Window, Hitchcock’s classic starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly.

Doors/Bar open at 7pm and films start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available for all four films at the village shop for £5 each. Please be sure to specify which film/films you are buying tickets for.

Only a couple of tickets left for film night!

There are only a couple of tickets left for ‘Elvis’ showing at the Village Hall on Saturday 14th. We’re nearly sold out and don’t anticipate any being available on the door so come down to the village shop in the morning to get the last few remaining. 
£5 each. Bar opens at 7pm and film starts at 7.30. To celebrate the improvement and re-opening of the cinema everyone will receive a complimentary  drink!

Hambledon Film Nights Return With ‘Elvis’ on Saturday, January 14th.

 

The first film night at the Village Hall with our new cinema system is Baz Luhrmann’s hugely successful ‘Elvis’ (cert 12a) starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. Doors (and the bar) open at 7pm for a 7.30 start. We will be welcoming everyone back to the first of our cinema nights with a free welcome drink.

Tickets are avaliable from the Village Shop at £5 each.

Village Hall Quiz – Saturday, May 7th

Our next village quiz is on Saturday, May 7th at the Village Hall – 7.30 for 8pm. Don’t forget to get your tickets for another evening of knowledge-testing and fun!

We won’t be providing a meal but there will be the usual cash bar and snacks to buy. There will be a raffle with proceeds going to the Disaster Emergencies Appeal which is supporting Ukraine. Ticket proceeds to the village hall.

Tickets are £10 each from the village shop. The maximum number on a team is 6 and individual tickets can also be bought.

In order to continue to provide some degree of social distancing we are having a slightly reduced number of tables so book your place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

It’s not too late to get your tickets for Campfire!

The performance ‘Campfire’ is tonight at the Village Hall at 7.30pm. Come along for an evening of music and true-life stories from some of Hambledon’s finest round an ‘artificial’ campfire with a mug of cocoa or a glass of wine/beer! Don’t risk the disappointment of missing out and then having to hear how fantastic it was!

We have some tickets left at £10 each,which can be bought on the door.

‘Campfire’ at the Village Hall this Thursday at 7.30pm

Don’t forget to buy your tickets for this performance from Farnham Maltings at the village hall on Thursday. 

It will be a wonderful evening of music, poetry and stories by the flickering light of the (artificial!) campfire in the warmth of the village hall. Hot chocolate will be provided and there will be a cash bar.

Come along for a great evening and to support your story-telling neighbours!

There might be the opportunity for some impromptu music and story-telling from the audience so feel free to bring your guitar!
