Hambledon Village Hall Committee is proud to present the hugely popular ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ the story of Freddie Mercury. (Cert 12a)

Stroll through the village on a summer’s evening to meet friends, have a drink and watch a fantastic film in surround sound!

Vann garden is open under the National Open Gardens Scheme this bank holiday Monday, May 6th from 2 to 6pm. Come and see the garden in all its springtime splendour.

Friday, April 5th at the Village Hall

We’re nearly sold out for tomorrow evening’s performance of comedy, music and poetry. To make sure you don’t miss out on the fun, buy your tickets from the village shop. £12.50 each. Doors and bar open at 7pm, performance begins at 7.30.

Our current hiring charges have been in place since October 2010 and, given the ever-rising costs of running the hall, we felt that it was time to look at them again.

We always bear in mind the fact that we are smaller than many halls and that people have to pay extra for electricity. However, we have been charging, in some cases, significantly less than our neighbouring halls and we feel that our new charges are fair and still very competitive.

We will now offer two rates, one rate for Hambledon residents and another, standard rate, (roughly 20% more) for non-residents, which is something that most halls do. Full details of the new charges can be found below.

We hope that people will appreciate the need for this increase. We are, as ever, immensely grateful for all the support the hall receives from everyone in Hambledon, without which we would be unable to run with or without any increase in hiring charges. Continue reading →

Ian McMillan ‘the Bard of Barnsley’ has his own show, The Verb, every Friday night on Radio 3, celebrating the spoken and written word. His many television and radio appearances include:

* Being a castaway on Desert Island Discs   

* Have I Got News for You     * Countryfile

* Pointless Celebrities            * Pick of the Week   

* Regular appearances on many other Radio 4 programmes and BBC breakfast.

Luke Carver Goss is an accordionist and composer. His music includes commissions for symphony orchestras, rock bands, musicals and theatres.

Tickets will go quickly as they have a big following but as the show will be largely about Hambledon we’re hoping to fill the hall with as many Hambledonians as possible.

The stage is set, the new curtains are up, the fabulous new seats are all out, the wine is mulling, the mince pies are warming….

Tickets are selling fast for this lively comic adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens story of Scrooge and his Christmas Eve experiences.  It is on at Hambledon Village Hall this Thursday 20th December at 7pm.

The Pantaloons are on a nationwide tour and are coming to Hambledon for the first time. Expect music, puppets a few ghosts and a jolly good time!  Reaction to the show from other Villages:
