Emergency Road Closures in Hambledon - Hambledon Village Web Site

Hambledon’s Ward county councillor Kevin Deanus has sent the following to the village community Facebook board relating to the current road closure at Lane End to allow for emergency water main repairs.

Kevin regularly updates us with pre-planned road works and, when notified, of emergency works as well. The Facebook link to the community board can be found on this website and it is worth checking in with it for latest news concerning our village.

Emergency roadworks: Please see the below email which I have received this morning.

“For your information there are emergency works being carried out by Thames Water on Lane End, at two locations between Wormley Lane and Vann Lane.

This is required for leaks in the carriageway at both locations. The road has been closed and access is being managed on site. The works are anticipated to be completed by end of play 9th of September.

In addition, emergency works being carried out by Thames Water on Vann Lane, outside Brookside Farm.

This is required for a leak in the carriageway. The road has been closed, the diversion route is NOT using Lane End as per closures above. The works are anticipated to be completed on the 8th of September.

We have asked TW to expedite all of the above works above, due to the School on Malthouse Lane.”

In addition, Salt Lane has also been closed for road works, so it is worth checking on your routes in and out of the village.

* Please Note: The above is the information provided to us. It may be, however, that at certain times, particularly evenings and weekends, road are passable even though shown as closed. Today (Tues) Vann Lane was reportedly fully open to traffic and some cars had negotiated the roadworks at Lane End before workers arrived on site. The bottom of Salt Lane was closed, but by using Clock Barn Lane, the upper end of Salt Lane can be reached.
