Hambledon Art Fair 2024 – October 5th and 6th

This year’s art fair is less than two weeks away and everyone at the hall is getting very excited!

In addition to some of our much-valued Hambledon artists, this year we have eight wonderful artists who haven’t exhibited with us before including three from Hambledon/Wormley who have been hiding their lights under bushels as far as the village hall is concerned!

There will be a very varied selection of artwork on display including paintings, drawings, screen prints, textiles, ceramics and jewellery. One jeweller’s work is made from recycled materials. Amongst the exhibitors we are lucky enough to have last year’s Surrey Artist of the Year.

Please do come along to enjoy the fair, see the hall in it’s most beuatiful guise of the year, have a cup of tea and piece of delicious homemade cake (we do that well at the hall!), help to raise much-needed funds for the hall and have the chance to buy a wonderful original artwork.

Open Saturday, October 5th from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, October 6th from 10am to 4pm.

Admission £2, under 16s free.

Would you like to join our friendly Village Hall Committee?

We are looking for someone who would like to join the village hall committee in the role of Treasurer. This is a voluntary position.

The Treasurer looks after day-to-day finances, including all payments and invoicing and also prepares a profit & loss statement after each event. Annually, the Treasurer compiles and files our financial return with the Charity Commission.

The committee usually meets every three months and runs various different events throughout the year.

No formal accountancy training is required for this role but the Treasurer needs to be happy working with numbers and spreadsheets etc. An understanding of accounting packages would also be very useful.

If you think you might like to join our happy team and to find out more about what the role involves, please contact Ruth Canham on villagehall@hambledonsurrey.co.uk
