Last Night of the Proms screening at the Village Hall
As an exciting new venture, we will be screening the Last Night of the Proms at the Village Hall, live from the Albert Hall on Saturday, September 14th. 6.30pm for 7pm.
Come along for a celebration of international music from the world’s leading musicians and enjoy this decades old tradition on the big screen with surround sound.
We will be running a well-stocked bar and selling snacks. There is no admission fee but tickets are required for entry which are available from the Village Shop.
Hambledon Cinema Presents – Wicked Little Letters – Saturday, July 20th 7pm for 7.30pm
Tickets are now on sale for our showing of ‘Wicked Little Letters’ starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley. Set in 1920s Littlehampton, this comedy tells the story of how local people, including the prim Edith (Olivia Colman), begin to receive letters full of hilarious profanities and rowdy Irish migrant Rose (Jessie Buckley) is charged with the crime. Suspecting that something is amiss, the town’s women investigate. Certificate 15.
Please note that there is strong and descriptive swearing throughout!

The Importance of Being Earnest, Thursday, May 16th at the Village Hall

The Importance of Being Earnest coming to the Village Hall on May 16th
The Fantastic Pantaloons Theatre Company who brought us the hilarious and moving A Christmas Carol and Jane Austen’s Emma are returning to the hall with their version of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.
Wilde’s comic masterpiece gets The Pantaloons’ treatment in their anarchic take on this classic comedy of manners. This energetic and musical production infuses Wilde’s witty words with snappy new songs and frantically funny physical theatre to give this perennially popular play a hilarious contemporary twist!
Tickets are £15 for adults and £9 for under 16s. They will be available from the Village Shop very soon and are already available online from The Pantaloons Website. Doors open at 7pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm.
Next village cinema film postponed
Apologies from the village Hall team but, due to various factors, the next film due to be shown at the hall (The Holdovers) is cancelled but we will hopefully show it at some point later in the year. If you have bought tickets from the shop then refunds will be given at the shop and online sales refunded straight to bank accounts. Apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment!
April’s Cinema Night at the Village Hall
On Saturday April 27th we will be showing ‘The Holdovers’ which has just been nominated for five Oscars and one of its stars (Da’Vine Joy Randolph ) won the Oscar for best supporting actress.
It tells the bittersweet story of a cantankerous teacher at an American boys boarding school who has to oversee the students left at school over the Christmas holidays and the relationships which develop.
Doors open at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30.
