The annual Parish Assembly will be held at the Village Hall on Thursday April 21st, and all are welcome to come along to hear from our local clubs, organisations and activities as they review the last 12 months.
Whether you are involved in one or more of the many community ventures, or simply want to be updated on life in our village, this is the ideal opportunity. It is an informal occasion, starting with refreshments and the chance to mingle with friends and neighbours at 7.30, followed by short briefings from representatives starting at 8pm.
The Assembly is a key event in the annual cycle of village life. It is hosted by Hambledon Parish Council, which will give a review of its last 12 months, followed by reports from the community shop, church, football and cricket clubs, village hall, alms houses, pub, nursery school, St Dominic’s, fete and festival, walking and cycling groups, book and bridge club, heritage society and others.
Guests will be invited to register to help at the Hambledon Midsummer Festival over the weekend of June 17th, 18th and 19th, and also to take part in the annual village litter-pick which takes place on Saturday April 23rd, two days after the Assembly. Bin bags, high-viz jackets and litter grabbers will be provided from 9am from outside the village shop and the event finishes with a barbecue starting at noon at the same location, hosted by the parish council.
Last year’s Assembly had to be conducted by Zoom because of the pandemic, and the year before it was cancelled completely for the same reason. So this is the first opportunity since 2019 to get-together and share in the rich community life of the village.
Please do come along. Masks can be worn if wished and a separate and distanced seating area is available to those who wish to be away from the main audience.
