Hydestile Resident Animals were called out on Wednesday evening to help rescue an injured deer at the junction of the A283 (Petworth Road) and Lane End. Unfortunately the animal had to be put down.
Based on the injured deer’s condition it is highly likely that there is a fawn somewhere in the local vicinity. Please keep a look out and if you see any sign of the fawn please contact Graham or Lyn at Hydestile Resident Animals on 01483 860313.
I saw a chap standing with a deer (that was lieing) down on the junction of Petworth Road and Hambledon this morning
I’ll try and call tomorrow – we had a fawn on the lawn that appeared alone; one we haven’t seen before. We are near to Hambledon and the sighting was yesterday
I have a more mature deer in my garden who has obviously been hit by a car. Its rear left hind leg is immobile and it’s left flank sunken…it has difficult running but my garden plants are helping him survive…..he is welcome poor creature.
I wonder whether a deer family were involved in a collision?
